The purpose of Outreach is to promote communication between the elderly in using community resources.
Outreach Services
Big Five Outreach will identify potential clients or their caregivers, make referrals to needed services and encourage their use of existing services and benefits.
All individuals age 60 and over are eligible for services. There are no mandatory fees for services. Older persons, however, are encouraged to make contributions to help defray the costs of services. Under current law, these contributions are used to expand services.
Chore – assists clients, age 60 or older who have difficulty with two or more Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, with obtaining assistance to do heavy housework, yard work or sidewalk maintenance up to $150.00 annually per participant.
Homemaker – assists clients, age 60 or older who have difficulty with two or more Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, with light housekeeping which consists of dusting, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, taking out the trash, laundry and preparing meals.
